The largest franchise show in Asia offers 700 booths and a wealth of Eastern expertise

All is set for Franchise Asia Philippines 2018 on July 18 to 22 at the SMX Convention Center-Manila. Organized by the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) to promote entrepreneurship through franchising, Franchise Asia Philippines 2018 supports the expansion of Philippine franchise brands within and beyond the country and aims to strengthen the position of the Philippines as a preferred investment destination. This year’s show promises to open windows of opportunity for all who take part in it.

Last year, the event attracted approximately 1,000 conference participants and over 50,000 expo visitors. The Philippine economy continues to be one of the fastest growing in the world and with sustained interest among Filipinos in starting a business via franchising, Franchise Asia Philippines 2018 expects to break records.

Five reasons which make Franchise Asia Philippines an unmissable event:

1. It is the largest franchise show in Asia

From being a simple sideshow of a retail conference and expo, Franchise Asia Philippines has grown to be the biggest franchise show in Asia in terms of number of conference speakers, conference attendees, exhibitors and trade visitors. Unlike other franchise shows in Asia, which only highlight the franchise aspect, Franchise Asia Philippines is a four-in-one show offering the following highlights:

* A two-day international conference at which renowned experts will present global best practices and business solutions (July 18-19)

* A three-day international expo that is a one-stop shop of franchise and other investment opportunities for home-grown and foreign concepts (July 20-22)

* Educational seminars to help aspiring franchisees invest in the right franchise and potential franchisors transform their businesses into successful franchises (July 20-22)

* A two-day Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) Program to help professionalize the Philippine franchise sector and sustain efforts in raising the global competitiveness of Philippine franchising (July 16-17 at the AIM Conference Center-Manila)

2. It has been showcasing business opportunities for more than two decades

Franchise Asia Philippines 2018 is now on its 26th edition and has become the most anticipated trade show in the Philippines because of the wide and interesting variety of franchise and other business opportunities it offers. This year, Franchise Asia Philippines Expo 2018 will feature over 700 booths in all the four halls of the first floor as well as two function rooms on the second floor of the SMX Convention Center-Manila. Among the Expo’s highlights are:

International area featuring top international franchise brands

Franchise investment opportunities in food, retail and service

Food park featuring emerging food concepts

Innovation hub showcasing retail technology providers

Suppliers and service providers

Emerging franchise brands and highly franchisable concepts

3. Philippine franchising continues to post robust growth

One of the main reasons why Franchise Asia Philippines has been growing is because of the strong growth the Philippine franchising sector. From a mere 50 franchise brands back in the 1990s when PFA was founded, there are now about 1,500 franchise brands – both foreign and homegrown – operating in the country. In fact, the Philippines is considered a franchise leader in Southeast Asia with 1,500 franchise brands creating 140,000 franchise outlets generating employment for a million Filipinos. This tremendous growth is made possible by PFA’s programs that work to create an enabling environment for foreign and homegrown franchises.

4. The Philippine economy is on a bull run

As mentioned, another thing going for Philippine franchising is that the economy has been growing exceptionally, making it or one of the fastest growing economies not only in Asia but in the world. Furthermore, the Philippine economy is expected to continue accelerating for decades to come.

5. The expo is located in a shopping and entertainment zone

Franchise Asia Philippines 2018 will be held at the SMX Convention Center, which sits in the center of a busy shopping and entertainment zone. (Mall of Asia, one of the world’s biggest malls is connected to it). Just behind it is the Conrad Hotel and just a short ride away are these premier hotels: Sofitel, Solaire, City of Dreams and Okada. There are also mid-range hotels like Wyndham, which is just a short walk away. There is plenty of nightlife here too; casinos, bars and night clubs dot the area. And for those who would like a cultural sidetrip, Intramuros, Manila’s colonial walled city, is just a drive away.
